ALMOST Antique Snail Figurine Art Deco Rosenthal A. Caasmann Porcelain 1947 SET OF TWO MATCHING SNAILS DATED 1940s WARTIME GERMANY. A very rare and most appealing Rosenthal porcelain Snail figurine, exquisitely hand-painted in pronounced but subtle colors (better than my pictures show), about 1-3/4 ins. (4.5 cm) H incl. base , about 1-1/2 ins. (3.8 cm) H figure only, on a rectangular base 3-3/8 ins. (8.6 cm) L; impressed mark "646." and Rosenthal backstamp of c.1940. This delightful piece was designed by noted Rosenthal sculptor A. Caasmann, who during the period 1913 through 1921, created many porcelain designs. This fine example is expertly hand-painted in detail with colors beautifully well blended. A superb Rosenthal vintage piece! CONDITION --Great; clean and bright.
