The history of the ImperialPearljewelry company began over 100 years ago, in 1917 in the jewelry capital of the USA, Providence. In 1941 Its owner Joseph Gladstone later renamed it to Imperial Pearl Syndicate . Which is where the IPS marking started. IPS Jewelry designers used Akoya pearls, pearls from the Tahitian islands, South Sea pearls, freshwater pearls and Keshi pearls. The company held a leading position in the pearl jewelry market, and its jewelry was very popular with fashionistas of that time. IPS Jewelry is high quality, that is silver and gold plated or filled. Thiscostume jewelryis highly collectible and sought after. Worth noting Hollywood stars, such as Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley Temple, and Loretta Young took part in the companys advertising campaigns. In 1969 IPS was sold to Weiss. These beauties are Crafted from 12k gold-filled material, they feature beautiful pearls that add a touch of sophistication to any outfit. Measuring at 1 inch, they are the perfect size to make a statement without being too heavy or cumbersome. The Earrings are in excellent condition with little to no wear. One pearl on the left earring has a small dent in it as shown in the pictures. They are marked on the clip 1/20 12kgf and under the clip marked IPS 12KGF. On the back side of the clip is Pat 156452. That patent number was filed 1949 for the clip part of the earring and was marked on Jewelry using that clip in the early 1950s
