This is Rosenthal Figurine number 1028. It features expressive animal. This is Blanc de Chine (all-white) figure. It stands on pedestal. Gentle texture of porcelain beautifully represents bear’s fur. Figurine is glazed. Looks splendid. Max Fritz designed this horse. Max Daniel Hermann Fritz (1873 – 1948) was acknowledged sculptor and modeler. He worked for Rosenthal in 1926 – 1946. Laughing Rabbit as well as Heron and Lion Group are the most famous of his sculptures designed for Rosenthal. He also worked for Hutschenreuther and created most known Bremen Musicians group figurine for them. Figurine on this auction is marked on the backside with standard Classic Rose Collection Rosenthal Group, Germany mark in green identifying production of 1960s. Other marking is model number 1028 incised on the backside. Figurine measures about 1 ½” x 1” and stands 3 ½” tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks or chips found.
