Description
This is my sister's c. 1950s Rosenthal piece, from the collection she and her husband assembled from auctions and travels around the world for over 35 years. The horse head, measuring about 9-1/8," has an off-white / cream matte or bisque finish on an off-white / cream glossy / glazed rectangular plinth. (I took photos against a white background for the contrast in color, last 2 photos.) It is impressed AHH on the top of the plinth (2nd photo). The figure is impressed 1609 22 and has Rosenthal Germany Kunstabteilung Selb V with the Rosenthal mark underglazed on the bottom. Condition : I see 2 dots of orangish discoloration on the neck on one side: one right in the middle, the other near the front bottom, clearest in photo #5. I imagine they can be cleaned. There is wear to the base. I do not see issues, such as crazing, cracks or chips, aside from normal production flaws, but I am not an expert, so please also refer to the photos. Shipping : I will ship wrapped with strong large cushion bubble wrap, placed in a sturdy box in a sturdy box ( clean recycled boxes) with more large cushion bubble wrap and extra insurance. Thanks for looking. About the figure: Hussman specialized in horse and rider statues . The subject is the r acehorse Hannibal, winner of the Epson Derby in 1804 .
